Some Like it HOT HOT HOT!!!!

Howdy all. WOW - IT is so amazing that it is already that time again - time to hop along with the Bombshells. You should have arrived from Jodi's beautifumous blog.

Out Hop theme this month is Some Like it Hot.

Well I will say OBVIOUSLY my Bombshell is HOT because 1) she is a Bombshell, and 2) is oviously outside enjoying a nice day with her umbrella under a Cherry Blossom Tree and 3) she has a distinct lack of clothing (the umbrella is hiding her nekkididity).

I colored her very simply using light pinks and peaches. And I did not write down the colors - but I think RV42 was one of them. :-)

Now - here is what is fun...

See the dots in the middle of the flowers, and the center of the umbrella and her hair chopsticks. Well this my friends is what happens when You decide to cut out using a Nestie a circle AFTER you have attached the cute little pearls. They SMUSH!!!! HEE HEE.

Ok - now it is time to head on over to Katie's blog. If you get lost along the way - the entire list is below.

It is Fabulous Freebie Friday over at PCP for the Sassy Studio Designs Team. This 2 week challenge is so much fun - Once Upon a Time - base your creation on a book.  And the Freebie this week is Little Red Riding Hood honey. WOO HOO.

I used Basic Grey paper, with the creepy trees, and printed out the "sentiment" which is from the son li'l Red Riding Hood by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs. She is colored with the 3x series for the most part. The eception is her skin which is E00, E11 and BV00 for the shading. Other than that, everything is in the 3x series.

Once cut out I layered the paper, and then wrapped some see through ribbon around it. The print out of the verse of the song was cut out with a nestie and then distress inked with 2-3 different colors to give it  agreen cast.

Now - if you are a member of Paper Craft Planet, check out the Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday posts. The Freebie is ONLY available today - (why it is called FRIDAY FREEBIE).

Alright - go forth and create you peeps!!!!

Ms. February's Red and Gold Challenge

Hey there y'all. It is that time again - Time for Ms. February's Pin Up challenge over at Bombshell Stamps. Ms. February is the talented Christine. She has challenged us to use red and gold on our cards.

My attempt at this challenge was to use Bombshell Angel with Halloween Costume to create this lovely lady on fire for a night out at some award show - or on the red carpet. Maybe a gold carpet. :-)

I used a fairly new technique for me. I am new to Distress Inks, and went to a class the other day. What I did was stamp yellow and red blocks on my Kitchen Aid Silicone mat. Then spritzed it with water, and then mushed this tag into it. You do it a couple of times with drying in between and you get this mottled look. You can't see it here, but it has a shimmery look to it because my final step was to spritz it with Glimmer Mist Iridescent Gold instead of water.

I colored her with R2x and a bit of R39, and Y11 base with Y2x for the gold.

Now - this is a REALLY easy challenge to take part in. Why - because the theme is so wide open! Just use Bombshell Stamps, and color red and gold. SNAP! You are done.  And if you don't have any Bombshell stamps - sign up for the Bombshell Newsletter and BOOM you get access to some freebies. :D

OK... Heading out now, but be sure to check out what the other Bombshell's have stirred up for you!

I'm Here to A-MUSE you with the All My Heart Set

Ok... the title is about as amusing as it gets...Yup - That's all I have. SIGH

The set for this months Muse Monday feature over at Bombshell Stamps is the "All My Heart" set. This set has several different hearts that you can use in so many ways. This is one of the sets I LOVE to use the coloring with pencils on black technique. For some reason the details of the hearts just scream out to me to use white ink and embossing powder for their details.

I made a set of three ATC's this week. I used black paper. If you look really closely you can see the texture. To make it look as smooth as possible with a little bit of texture I use the back side of textured cardstock. Now you can by really smooth black paper, but the slight texture just adds to it. For most places that there is color on here I colored with white pencil first, then went over it with the color I wanted. You can see the center of the hearts on the biggest and smallest are not as dark... that is where I went directly with the pinkish red color. You can see a definite difference in how the color takes.  Once done, I cut out the matching paper just slightly smaller than the black ATC chalkboards I had... Then I popped up the cut out hearts in the middle of each one. They needed a little something so I went back with enamel accents and added some corner stuff.

Now, several other Bombshells have some inspiration for you as well... So go check them out. While you are there - check out some of our challenges like our Sketch Challenge for a chance to win some rubber. Also - - be sure to read up on the Guest Design Team Call. Yes - that is right - we are having a Guest Design Team call for our Monthly Pin Up girls. If you LOVE tattoo inspired stamps and want to have some fun with a wild and wacky bunch of gals with a slightly quirky sense of humor - send in an application! Go for it! Nothing to lose - a lot of fun to gain.

We are Hippity Hoppin with a special Sassy Studio Designs Hop.  See our lovely artist has had quite a few problemos with her computer equipment lately... so instead of a new release hop, we are each and every one of us choosing our favorite image and creating a project with it. But NOT ONLY THAT.... if you comment on our blog posts... each one of us (and that is a LOT of us) are randomly picking a person from our blog comments to receive the image highlighted. It is a TWO day hop even - so - Your chances to win are REALLY good!!!! But even more so, the more love you leave!

OK... so what is my favorite Sassy Studio Designs Image? - It was VERY hard to decide... I love so many of them... but this is the winner for me:

Steampunk Vivian!  I colored her up in Green with blue eyes and dark brown hair for the luck of hte Irish! This is ths Origins paper pack and I chose the paper and then went to town coloring her.  I did this one in reverse of my typical... Usually I color skin first, but I was really focussing on the green part so colored that first. The greens used are the G21, 24, 28, 29 series. The browns on  her outfit and boots are E21, 23, 25 and the browns in her hair are E25, 27, 29, 49.  Her skin is very light YR0000, 000, E11. And B21, 23, 26 are her eyes.

I cut the image out simply and then made a center z-fold card . Closed it looks like:

Alright - now you should check out the next stop on the hop which is Jackie .  In case you get lost on your travels - the full list is below.

Have a great day!!!!

    You Light Up My Life

It is February Sketch time over at Bombshell Stamp. And since it is Valentines day I thought - we need a nice sentiment with lovely images. What is more romantic than candles and roses?

I used Alter Skulls for the images...The real trick was an appropriate sentiment. I looked for things about fire, and candles, but thought this was really the best saying that could apply. I will say that the black on the inside of the skulls eyes was gone over again with a black multiliner to ensure it was really dark.

Now, if you happened on my lovely spot in cyberspace, I encourage you to hop on over to the Bombshell stamps blog to check it out, and see what all the other Bombshells have put together for you!!

    Yellow and Blue make GREEN

At least that is what I learned from Ziploc bags and the blue toilet bowl cleaner.

This is my entry into the Flourishes release week challenge. The challenge was to pick three things - one from each category...  First the sketch - Which I chose 1 of 3 but I turned it on its side. The second was a color palette - and I chose the third in that category which is the green part (more on the toilet water color later). Then the third was to choose an embellie - I chose buttons.

So - I chose one of the initial stamps. I colored it with Y00, 11, 15, 19 and YG21, 23, 25.  I cut out with some Cherry Lynne Dies the main image. The  paper I used is DCWV Lemon Flower.

Now... Here comes the ziploc creation. I took a class on Distress Inks on Saturday. And I have a whopping 6 ink pads - none of which meet the criteria of green. But I do have Tumbled Glass and Wild Honey. Ooooooo... it made a really pretty greenish shade with a mottled look. WOO HOO. You can see it better on the close up here:
Now that being said  - Crossing my fingers and good luck to everyone else.

    Have a great day!

Shot through the Heart - SSD FFF at PCP!

Is that enough letters for you! The Fabulous Freebie over at Paper Craft Planet today is a wonderful image that is (shhhhhhhh) still for sale on the site.  WOW! As Valentines is approaching, it was decided to make this a Heart challenge - you must use hearts on your project.

The paper is Sweet Fairy by Prima.. and it has a few hearts embedded in it. I then added some extra hearts so as to make sure people saw them!!! For the lovely Cupid I tried to borrow some of the colors in the paper.. Her hair is RV32, 34 and then I went over it with RV42 to add a little vibrancy to it. Once done I added some extra shading with R56.  The yellows are Y11, 32, 35, 38. The wings are BG0000, 000, 21. And her skin is YR0000, 000 and E11. And the blacks are C3, 5, 7.

Once finished, I added some gold stickles to her and to the flowers, and the center of the hearts.

Now if you join us over at Paper Craft Planet - you can get this Freebie - today only. And Our challenge for this fortnight is "Shot Through The Heart"! Create a project, featuring any Sassy Studio Designs image, and include hearts somewhere on it! Remember you MUST use a SSD image to play along, and you get bonus points if you use one of the freebies.

  • You MUST create a project based on the current challenge
  • You have until 11:59pm EDT on February 14th to upload your creation here, under this discussion, on PCP
  • You may enter as often as you wish during the two week period
