But for some reason she screamed at me that she belonged on a tag with random elements of schtuff! So jump over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog and check out what all the design team has going this week. AND if you can, join us for some fun and a chance to win some digi goodness!

At one point there is 7 layers. YAY.

Muse Monday Mermaid

Hey there guys... It is time for another Muse Monday. Every month, the Bombshells are featuring one stamp set to give you all out there in cyberspace a little inspiration.  This months stamp set that we are featuring is Mermaid Anchor.  I really love this stamp set. The dolphins are adorable, and the mermaid on the anchor is so much fun to color.

This time I wanted to go with some non-traditional type colors, but I couldn't get away from the blue and green. However, pink is not typically associated with mermaids, and plaid isn't either. I found this paper and loved it with the image.

Her skin is colored with YR000,00, E11 and her tail with YG05, 07, 09 and BG000,01, 02, 05. The pinks are RV02, 32, 34, 06. Her hair is Y00,02, 08. The anchor is B60, 63, 66. When done I used the BG01 to airbrush inside the Nestie. Then I put the Nestie on the backside of the green paper, and used a dark grey to airbrush the outline. Then I cut out the green. This gave me a green just slightly larger than the part actually cut out with the Nestie.

Now I ask you to head on over to the Bombshell Site and see what other inspiration has been made for this set. This is our third entry of the month. The next one will be next Monday!

Have a great week.

Today's Sassy Studio Designs Dare to Be Sassy Thursday challenge was to make a Disney Vacation project. There are so many fun Princesses and villains to design our card with - I had a hard time choosing. But, I finally narrowed it down to the recently released Jasmine to create this card.

I used Y11, 21, 23, 26 for her outfit along with the BG10, 11, 13, 15. Her hair was E23, 25, 27, 29 with Y11. Her skin is E51, 53, 55.

I really enjoyed this card as I love to color SHEER items. They are so much fun!!!! I hope you all join us over at SSD for some fun this week. You will have a chance to win free images. And Free is always better!

Name Your Poison

It is time for another WACKY Holiday. We love to celebrate the strange, wacky, bizarre holidays that seem to pop up every year over at Bombshell. Today is no exception as it is Name Your Poison day.

I used the fabulous Tiki Party to create this tag (which BTW would be a great tag for giving someone a poisonous beverage of your choice).

I colored with many different colors of Copic, but my favorite part was making the background which is different distress inks then spritzed a lot with Glimmer Mist Iridescent to make it all sparkly. I thought it gave it a festive feel.

Now my poison of choice is usually frozen, fruity and with little umbrellas in it. :D  Although I do go for an occasional amaretto sour. YUMMY.

Now I hope you all have a great day and get a chance to pick your poison.

Clearly the Bomb!

Bombshell that is! So today we are starting off June with a bang. Our June Pinup is Sharon, and she has challenged us to use acetate or vellum on our projects. I chose to use Vellum and do something I haven't done - color with copics on vellum.

I made this a very simple project. I figure this is something that can be used in a scrapbook or even as a hanging in a frame.

This is Indian Princess, and she is printed out on vellum.  Once completed, I used copics to color her. This is a little bit harder than coloring on the regular paper I use. It slides on really quick, but doesn't want to blend as much as on the paper.
So I kept it simple! I used very few colors. BG 32, 34 were used for the turquoises. E50, 51, 53 were for the feathers and the leather. E27, 29 is her hair, and E11, 13, 15 her skin. R46 was her lips.

It is a great medium to work with. If you look really closely you can see the paper pattern through the image. HEE HEE.

OK. So I am outta here for the evening. I hope you have a great Sunday! And PLEASE pop over and see the inspiration that the other Bombshells have clearly laid out for you. And why don't you try to use a little vellum or acetate on your project and try to win some RUBBER!

Dare to be Beachy!!!!!

This weeks Dare to be Sassy Thursday is brought to you by the beach!

I used the new Ariel Pinup image to create my Beachy Scene. I colored her using a lot of different colors, but the main colors were in her hair where I used a ton of different colors. Y11 is in the light areas. Then I layered with R22, 24. This was then deepened with E07, 09 and E17, 18. I think this is one of my favorite Red hair combos. It is enough red to be red, and enough browns to ensure it doesn't look like clown hair.

I then used the blue and cut an area out of the center to frame it, and put the image behind the blue cardstock. Added flowers and some vellum butterflies. And Voila. There we go!

Now I hope you join us this week for DTBST. You do not have to use SSD images to win, but we love it when you do. And the winner gets a  choice of SSD images as their prize! Whoop!!!!
